Airport Alert: Changes to TSA Leadership
Changes to TSA Leadership
April 22, 2025
Yesterday, TSA announced the appointment of Ha Nguyen McNeill as the agency’s Deputy Administrator. This morning, TSA confirmed to AAAE that McNeill will serve as the TSA Acting Administrator until a person is nominated and confirmed for that position. Adam Stahl, who had been serving as the Acting TSA Administrator, will now be the Acting Deputy Administrator.
AAAE already has a strong working relationship with Acting Administrator McNeill. She previously served as the TSA Chief of Staff under the first Trump Administration. During that timeframe, she established the first Chief Innovation Officer role at TSA to remove bureaucratic obstacles and expedite the deployment of key technologies such as Computed Tomography and Credential Authentication Technology.
After leaving TSA, she was the Chief Operating Officer at BSA | The Software Alliance, where she oversaw all revenue-generating functions and managed global intellectual property enforcement and compliance programs.
More recently, McNeill served as President, Commercial (acting) and Vice President of Digital Identity Growth at BigBear.AI, where she successfully stood up the company’s digital identity portfolio. Her leadership contributed to revenue growth and the development of new AI capabilities for the aviation market.
Additionally, Ms. McNeill has served in various capacities within the Department of Homeland Security, the National Security Council, and the Office of Management and Budget, managing national aviation security portfolios and leading the development of unified U.S. government policies and initiatives.
