New Official Acting as TSA Administrator

This afternoon, TSA announced that Adam Stahl will serve as the Senior Official Performing the Duties of the TSA Administrator, replacing Melanie Harvey in that role. Harvey will serve as the Senior Official Performing the Duties of the Deputy Administrator. Stacey Fitzmaurice will return to her position as the Executive Assistant Administrator of Operations Support.
 
Adam Stahl was named the TSA Chief of Staff on January 27. Previously, he was the Chief of Staff at Avangrid, a global energy company where he focused on national security policy and regulations. Before that, he held several different positions at the Department of Homeland Security from April 2018 until October 2021. Stahl also worked for both the Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee and the Senate Foreign Relations Committee from 2015-2018.
 
The Administration has not yet nominated an individual to serve as the TSA Administrator.
